Casting lots, also known as “cleromancy,” is a type of sortition in which one finds an end result in ways that usually would be unplanned, for instance, deciding an outcome by rolling a dice. These are sometimes considered to unfold the will of the Lord. Some bible verses about casting lots.

Matthew 27:35 – And after they were done crucifying the Son of God, Jesus Christ, they split up his garments by casting lots.
