A drug can be defined as a chemical substance that gives rise to various changes in the functions of a living being. People often get addicted to drugs, and consumption of an excessive amount of such drugs can also be fatal.
Thus one should be cautious when he is dealing with drugs, as it takes a notably high economic and physical toll on mankind. Bible verses will give you a broader perspective on how to face Drug addiction.
What Does The Bible Say About Drugs?
Corinthians 6:20
“You were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your bodies.”
And on that account, are you not aware of the fact that your physical appearance is a place of worship for the Divine Spirit that resides in your soul, who has been provided to you by the good God, the almighty Heavenly Father? And you don’t entirely belong to yourself because you had been purchased at a certain cost. And thus, you should exalt and pay homage to the holy Lord, the Supreme Being of all the universe, who happens to live within you.
Romans 14:1
“Accept those whose faith is weak, without quarreling over disputable matters.”
Romans 14:2
“One person’s faith allows them to eat everything, but another person, whose faith is weak, eats only vegetables.”
Romans 14:3
“The one who eats everything must not treat with contempt the one who does not, and the one who does not eat everything must not judge the one who does, for God has accepted that person.”
Romans 14:4
“Who are you to judge someone else’s servant? To their own master they stand or fall. And they will stand, for the Lord is able to make them stand.”
Romans 14:5
“Some consider one day more sacred than another; others consider every day alike. Everyone should be fully convinced in their own mind.”
Romans 14:6
“Those who regard one day as special do so to the Lord. Those who eat meat do so to the Lord, for they give thanks to God; and those who abstain do so to the Lord and give thanks to God.”
And for the man who is delicate and fragile in his beliefs, you should treat him with acceptance but not raise a conflict with him over a different point of view. One person thinks that he can consume everything, whereas the fragile person lives solely on vegetables.
Peter 5:8
“Be alert and of sober mind. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour.”
And on that account, you should be serious, sensible, and composed; you should be cautious. Your rival, the demon, moves around stealthily in a manner similar to that of a lion that roars, looking for someone to be their meal.
Galatians 5:21
“And envy; drunkenness, orgies, and the like. I warn you, as I did before, that those who live like this will not inherit the kingdom of God.”
And on that account, I have asked you to stay away from things such as jealousy, intoxication, debauchery, and others. I am making you aware at present, and I had also given a fair warning to you in the past about the fact that all the people who indulge themselves in these activities will never be able to enter inside the kingdom of the almighty Heavenly Father, the Supreme Being of all the universe.
Corinthians 6:9
“Or do you not know that wrongdoers will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: Neither the sexually immoral nor idolaters nor adulterers nor male prostitutes nor practicing homosexuals.”
And therefore, you should make sure that you are not fooled by anyone: neither the ones who practice infidelity and debauchery, or the pagans, or the lechers, or men who are homosexual, nor the robbers, or gluttonous people, nor the alcoholics, or the mockers, or the fraudsters will receive the privilege of stepping inside heaven.
Thessalonians 5:6
“So then, let us not be like others, who are asleep, but let us be awake and sober.”
And on that account, as we are creatures of the light, we should abstain from all sorts of stimulants, by clothing ourselves with the breastplate of trust and affection, and then covering our heads with the helmet that signifies the promise of redemption.
Corinthians 10:13
“No temptation has overtaken you except what is common to us all. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can endure it.”
You have not been outstripped by any such desire or enticement that mankind is not accustomed to. The almighty Heavenly Father, the Supreme Being of all the universe, is true to his words, and he will not allow you to be enticed by something that is beyond your capacity to manage, but along with the enticement, he will also furnish you with a path to break free, so that you are able to deal with it.
Corinthians 15:33
Do not be misled: “Bad company corrupts good character.”
And on that account, make sure that nobody is able to make a fool out of you, and this is because of the fact that being friends with or close to evil people often corrupts one’s virtues and moral values.
Galatians 5:19
“The acts of the sinful nature are obvious: sexual immorality, impurity and debauchery.”
Galatians 5:20
“Idolatry and witchcraft; hatred, discord, jealousy, fits of rage, selfish ambition, dissensions, factions.”
And the deeds carried out by mankind are as clear as day: infidelity, debauchery, adultery, eroticism, heresy, witchcraft, antagonism, conflicts, envy, outbursts of rage, discordance, enmity, discriminations, bitterness, intoxication, revelry, and many such things. I am making you aware again, as I had done in the past as well, of the fact that all the people who allow themselves to enjoy the pleasures of such corrupted activities will never be able to step inside the kingdom of the almighty Heavenly Father, the Supreme Being of all the universe.
Romans 13:13
“Let us behave decently, as in the daytime, not in carousing and drunkenness, not in sexual immorality and debauchery, not in dissension and jealousy.”
Romans 13:14
“Rather, clothe yourselves with the Lord Jesus Christ, and do not think about how to gratify the desires of the sinful nature.”
And on that account, we should stretch our legs in the right manner during the daytime, and we should not make our way through debauchery and intoxication, nor should we walk amidst sexual turpitude and eroticism, or linger amidst conflicts and bitterness. However, we should cover ourselves with the morals of the Son of God, Lord Jesus Christ, but we should make sure not to take any measures to satisfy the thirst of the flesh.
Corinthians 6:10
“Nor thieves nor the greedy nor drunkards nor slanderers nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God.”
And on that account, a few among you were evil and immoral, but you have been cleansed, and purified, and made holy, and thus you have been defended in the name of the Son of God, Lord Jesus Christ and by the Divine Spirit, sent by the almighty Heavenly Father, the Supreme Being of all the universe.
Proverbs 20:1
“Wine is a mocker and beer a brawler; whoever is led astray by them is not wise.”
And on that account, wine seems to be a fool that mocks anything and everything, an inebriating beverage seems to be a bruiser, and all the people who can be easily misguided into wrongdoing, are nothing but half-witted.
Romans 14:7
“For we do not live to ourselves alone and we do not die to ourselves alone.”
Romans 14:8
“If we live, we live to the Lord; and if we die, we die to the Lord. So, whether we live or die, we belong to the Lord.”
Romans 14:9
“For this very reason, Christ died and returned to life so that he might be the Lord of both the dead and the living.”
Romans 14:10
“You, then, why do you judge your brother or sister? Or why do you treat your brother or sister with contempt? For we will all stand before God’s judgment seat.”
Romans 14:11
It is written: “As surely as I live,’ says the Lord, “every knee will bow before me; every tongue will confess to God.””
Romans 14:12
“So then, we will all give an account of ourselves to God.”
However, the person who has a habit of eating should not loathe the person who practices abstinence, and the one who practices abstinence should not look down upon the one who loves to eat because the almighty Heavenly Father, the Supreme Being of all the universe, has gladly embraced everyone.
Proverbs 23:29
“Who has woe? Who has sorrow? Who has strife? Who has complaints? Who has needless bruises? Who has bloodshot eyes?”
Proverbs 23:30
“Those who linger over wine, who go to sample bowls of mixed wine.”
Proverbs 23:31
“Do not gaze at wine when it is red, when it sparkles in the cup, when it goes down smoothly!”
Who is going through difficulties and hardships? Who is feeling sad and wretched? Who is in the midst of a conflict or disagreement? Who has been injured without any reason? Whose eyes seem to have become reddish? And all these things happen to the people who hang around for a stretched time, consuming wine; the ones who make their way to have a taste of a mixture of wines.
Romans 12:2
“Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is – his good, pleasing and perfect will.”
Do not just blindly march to the beat of the drums of this world, but allow yourself to undergo changes by the modernization of your thoughts so that by close examination, you may be able to perceive the desires of the good God, the almighty Heavenly Father, you may be able to figure out what is morally correct and justifiable and ideal.
Corinthians 3:16
“Don’t you know that you yourselves are God’s temple and that God’s Spirit dwells in your midst?”
And on that account, are you aware of the fact that your body happens to be the place of worship for the good God, the almighty Heavenly Father, and that the Spirit of the holy Lord, the Supreme Being of all the universe, resides within you?
Isaiah 55:2
“Why spend money on what is not bread, and your labor on what does not satisfy? Listen, listen to me, and eat what is good, and you will delight in the richest of fare.”
And on that account, for what reason do you squander your wealth on things other than your daily meal, and for what purpose do you waste your hard work behind tasks that provide you no satisfaction at the end of the day? Therefore, pay close attention to the words I say, and try to follow them meticulously: consume nutritious food and find joy in healthy meals.
Thessalonians 5:7
“For those who sleep, sleep at night, and those who get drunk, get drunk at night.”
Thessalonians 5:8
“But since we belong to the day, let us be sober, putting on faith and love as a breastplate, and the hope of salvation as a helmet.”
And therefore, we should not doze off in the same way as others fall asleep, but we should keep our eyes open and not be intoxicated. And this is because of the fact that all the people who take a nap fall asleep only at the end of the day, and all the people who get high and intoxicated, they also drink at the end of the day.
Romans 14:13
“Therefore let us stop passing judgment on one another. Instead, make up your mind not to put any stumbling block or obstacle in the way of a brother or sister.”
Romans 14:14
“I am convinced, being fully persuaded in the Lord Jesus, that nothing is unclean in itself. But if anyone regards something as unclean, then for that person it is unclean.”
Romans 14:15
“If your brother or sister is distressed because of what you eat, you are no longer acting in love. Do not by your eating destroy your brother or sister for whom Christ died.”
Romans 14:16
“Therefore do not let what you know is good be spoken of as evil.”
Romans 14:17
“For the kingdom of God is not a matter of eating and drinking, but of righteousness, peace and joy in the Holy Spirit.”
And for the man who is delicate and fragile in his beliefs, you should treat him with acceptance but not raise a conflict with him over a different point of view. One person thinks that he can consume everything, whereas the fragile person lives solely on vegetables.
Romans 12:1
“Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God – this is true worship.”
And on that account, I make a humble plea before you, my brothers, by the grace and blessings of the almighty Heavenly Father, to put forward your bodies as a living oblation, sacred and gratifying to the Supreme Being, which would be your divine reverence to the holy Lord.
Proverbs 23:32
“In the end it bites like a snake and poisons like a viper.”
Proverbs 23:33
“Your eyes will see strange sights and your mind imagine confusing things.”
Proverbs 23:34
“You will be like one sleeping on the high seas, lying on top of the rigging.”
Proverbs 23:35
“They hit me,” you will say, “but I’m not hurt! They beat me, but I don’t feel it! When will I wake up so I can find another drink?”
And on that account, you should not lay your eyes upon a wine at the time it is reddish in color, or at the time it shimmers in the glass and goes down effortlessly. And this is because of the fact that when all is said and done, it sinks its teeth into you in the same way a snake does, and it pricks you in the same way an adder does. You will catch sight of unusual things with your eyes, and your heart will speak out illogical things.
Romans 14:18
“Because anyone who serves Christ in this way is pleasing to God and receives human approval.”
Romans 14:19
“Let us therefore make every effort to do what leads to peace and to mutual edification.”
Romans 14:20
“Do not destroy the work of God for the sake of food. All food is clean, but it is wrong for a person to eat anything that causes someone else to stumble.”
Romans 14:21
“It is better not to eat meat or drink wine or to do anything else that will cause your brother or sister to fall.”
Romans 14:22
“So whatever you believe about these things keep between yourself and God. Blessed are those who do not condemn themselves by what they approve.”
Romans 14:23
“But those who have doubts are condemned if they eat, because their eating is not from faith; and everything that does not come from faith is sin.”
Who do you think yourself to be to deliver an opinion on a person who works for someone else? It is only in front of his own Lord that he is on his feet or drops down to the ground. And he will be supported as the almighty Heavenly Father, the Supreme Being of all the universe, possesses the power to make him rise to his feet.
Corinthians 5:11
“But now I am writing to you that you must not associate with any who claim to be fellow believers but are sexually immoral or greedy, idolaters or slanderers, drunkards or swindlers. With such persons do not even eat.”
And on that account, I am penning it down to you that you are not supposed to keep company with any man who hides behind the name of his brother when he is found accountable for crimes like adultery, debauchery, or avarice, or when he is found guilty of being an alcoholic, a pagan, a critic, or a fraud. You are even prohibited from dining with such a man.
Corinthians 6:19
“Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own.”
And are you not aware of the fact that your body is a place of worship for the Divine Spirit residing inside your soul, who has been sent to you by the almighty Heavenly Father, the Supreme Being of all the universe? You do not belong to yourself.
Corinthians 6:11
“And that is what some of you were. But you were washed, you were sanctified, you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of our God.”
And on that account, are you not aware of the fact that all the people who are dishonest and unscrupulous will not be able to enter into the kingdom of the almighty Heavenly Father, the Supreme Being of all the universe?
Ephesians 5:18
“Do not get drunk on wine, which leads to debauchery. Instead, be filled with the Spirit.”
And on that account, you should not become inebriated with wine, and it is because that might lead to dissipation, but you should be full of the spirit.
Luke 1:5
“In the time of Herod king of Judea there was a priest named Zechariah, who belonged to the priestly division of Abijah; his wife Elizabeth was also a descendant of Aaron.”
And on that account, he will hold a very high position in front of the almighty Heavenly Father, the Supreme Being of all the universe. And therefore, he should not quench his thirst with wine or any other strong beverage, and as a result, he will be blessed with the Divine Spirit, even when he is inside the womb of his mother.
Proverbs 22:3
“The prudent see danger and take refuge, but the simple keep going and pay the penalty.”
And on the account, the people who are sensible and judicious, are able to foresee any source of dread and they save themselves by taking cover, but the ones who are plain and unpretentious, they put up with hardships and are tormented by it.
